This great boutique hotel in Vinoramas not only sits right on the Sea of Cortez so that you can take advantage of a wide range of water sports, has modern luxurious rooms, the Crossroad Restaurant for lunch and dinner but is THE place for live music on the East Cape. Joan Hafenecker, the owner books some great local and regional bands for live shows on their patio – and even is graced by some internationally known musicians from time to time.
New Year’s Eve saw one of our favorite rock and reggae groups from La Paz – Stamina. This trio does an incredible job of putting a reggae beat to some of the hottest pop hits of the 70s, 80s and 90s and even country. Vida Soul has had to visits from a popular northern Baja trio – Sweet Six – who provide great rock and blues to the audience. Julieta Rock Band, weekends of Jazz and latin music have all been performed at this great venue on the beach in Vinoramas.
Vida Soul has two great upcoming events. The first is on March 19th at 7:00 pm, featuring Gatos Pardos. This is a new band starring the East Cape’s favorite keyboard player, Mike Sisco. Mike has played at Vida Soul many times with a variety of bands. Always an outstanding performance. He has a big following in Los Barilles and La Ribera.
On April 2nd at 7:00 pm, the Brian Flynn Band returns. This time he is joined by David Stone of Rainbow and it promises to be another incredible evening under the stars. For those of you not familiar with Brian Flynn, he was Sammy Hagar’s guitarist and has spent a lot of time performing at Cabo Wabo. This promises to be an incredible evening of music.
And unlike many other venues where the bands end up performing in the dark, Luz D’Noche of Legendary Lighting and Sound is usually on hand to make sure that the performers are well lit and that the lighting complements the performances.
If you don’t want to drive home after the show Joan Hafenecker always has great room packages available on concert nights (or anytime). You can also get a day pass for $25 that includes $15 in food and spend the day while you wait for the show to start.
And these concerts are all operated on solar as Vida Soul is an off-the-grid boutique hotel.
